Cannibals 'n' Princesses: Top Five Holiday Flicks
It's the kind of holiday list that doesn't require you to go into panic mode and rush to the mall or the grocery store. It's the one about movies! Yes, December is the time for high-class fare, family hijinks and little movies that could (maybe).
First, you need to check out E! Online's complete photo gallery guide to the season, to see which are most enticing.
Now, here is my 100-percent biased must-see list.
1. Margot at the Wedding: See it to remember how great Nicole Kidman can be. And see it because Noah Baumbach is, quite simply, a freaking genius with dialogue.
2. No Country for Old Men: Believe it, Javier Bardem and Josh Brolin are the most compelling cat and mouse to come onscreen since Tom and Jerry. And Coen brothers fanatics will be enthralled.
3. I Am Legend: It's the end of the world, and Will Smith is going to save us all. I mean, come on, who could not be intrigued?
4. Enchanted: A sophisticated fairy tale starring the glorious Amy Adams that genuinely pleases adults and kids, and not in that really obvious Shrekky, reference-making, wink-wink sort of way. Hell yeah! Oops, I mean heck yeah.
5. Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street: Take my favorite musical (on which I wrote more than a couple of papers in high school) and add Johnny Depp and Tim Burton. Heaven, simply heaven.
