It's no wonder that Johnny seems to have hit it off so well with his newly adopted Comanche mother, LaDonna Harris.  She's got lots of life stories to tell, and I'm sure Johnny probably finds her fascinating!  I found out a lot more about her on Wikipedia and discovered she is quite the woman!  She's a social activist and is the founder and president of Americans for Indian Opportunity.  She has served on the boards of a wide variety of organizations.  While married to her husband, Fred R. Harris, he became a Senator from Oklahoma and the two of them lived in Washington D.C., moving amongst the Democratic political circles of the Lyndon Johnson presidency.  LaDonna and her husband have three children, all adults now, who are doing great things of their own.  She and Fred are divorced now, but remain good friends.  In 2000, LaDonna wrote an autobiography about her life called "LaDonna Harris:  A Comanche Life" and there is a documentary being filmed about her life called "LaDonna Harris: Indian 101."  LaDonna was born of a father who was of European-American descent and a mother who was Comache.
