The only way to know for sure whether Johnny gets your gift is to hand it to him in person. Even when we met him in person at the Meet & Greet in Pompano Beach after the last Sheila Witkin concerts, any gifts that were given to Johnny were immediately handed off to one of the security detail so that Johnny could continue down the line shaking hands and meeting people. Those of us who gave him gifts that night have no idea whether he actually collected the gifts later and looked at them or kept them, whether they were thrown in a dumpster, or divided up among the crew.

Johnny cannot possibly open and see every gift and every piece of mail that fans around the world send to him. Most major movie stars like Johnny receive mail through their PR firm or through their agent's office or through a mail service that they pay to handle all of their mail. I know that Johnny has used a mail service for many years, but mail is also sent to him at his agent's office and his PR firm depending upon where the sender addresses the piece of mail. In any of these cases, Johnny is not there when the mail is opened. Hired help opens the mail and many times gifts received are donated to charity. You have no guarantee that the people who open the mail are going to forward your gift to him.

If you have a rare edition book, I wouldn't take a chance mailing it anywhere. Chances are likely that Johnny will never receive it.
